How long will my appointment take?

A flu jab appointment should take no longer than 5 minutes per person.

Which flu jab should I have?

The recommended flu jab is based on your age. Our standard Quadrivalent Flu Jab is suitable for most people and can be administered from 6 months old up until aged 64.
For those aged 65 years and over, it is recommended to have FluAd, which is formulated with MF59 adjuvant for a stronger immune response.

Children have an additional option of the Nasal Quadrivalent Flu Jab which is needle-free and pain-free. It is usually available later in the year than the injected equivalent and generally requires 2-doses for full protection.

Why are you not operating a walk-in clinic this year?

To ensure the safety of our patients during the Covid-19 pandemic, this year we have introduced an online booking platform. In past years we have operated a walk-in clinic and although it was always highly successful, the risk of overcrowding our reception area was a risk we weren’t prepared to take this year.

To help space out our appointments, may we please ask you to book in your appointment using our online booking platform and help us keep everyone safe this flu season.

Where are you located?

We are based in Central London, at Fleet Street Clinic, 29 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1AA.
Our drop-in clinic runs Monday through to Friday, mostly 9 am – 5 pm but please remember to book an appointment before visiting us: Book Now

When should I get vaccinated?

The flu season in the UK runs September-February, every year like clockwork. We would recommend everyone to get vaccinated prior to exposure to influenza. For maximum protection and minimal risk, the earlier you get your flu jab the less likely you are to catch the flu.

What are we doing to keep you safe?

The welfare of our patients remains paramount.  This year, we have a slightly different set up with some new policies to give you peace of mind when attending your flu jab appointment.

Here are some of the things we are doing to keep you safe.

1. Introduced online booking so we can ensure a steady flow of patients in our waiting areas and reduce the risk of overcrowding.

2. For convenience, we’ve introduced a separate entrance and waiting area dedicated just for flu jabs.

3. Hand sanitizers are located throughout the clinic for use before, during and after your appointment.

4. Face coverings are mandatory for all in the clinic and our nurses will be wearing PPE.

5. We will clean the waiting areas frequently and the consultation room before and after every appointment.

Diagnosing Flu?

Many other upper respiratory viruses cause the same symptoms as the flu, most notably, Covid-19. It is therefore important to be able to determine if you have the flu or another respiratory infection. Our in-clinic PCR machine is able to diagnose flu using molecular technology in just 65 minutes.

We don’t just vaccinate against flu, we can diagnose and treat it at a single visit.
