I am allergic to eggs – can I still have the flu jab?

Well-documented, severe allergy means that you should not be vaccinated using vaccine produced in eggs. True egg allergy is very rare: we will usually vaccinate people who report no problem eating egg products such as cakes or egg pasta. If you are uncertain, talk things over with your doctor, or with the doctor or nurse giving the vaccine as we do have egg-free cell-based vaccines available for the 2019/2020 season.
